Tribute to master Katsuhiro Otomo and his design for Neo Tokyo's caretaker robots.
Those sentinels were meant to preserve order in the metropoli in case of war or invasion. Although they appear widely on the original manga, for some reason they weren't in the 1988 Akira Movie.
